Grab a calculator. (You won't be able to do this one in your head.)
Remove the last 4 digits of your phone number then key in the rest of the digits of your phone number (NOT including the area code.)
Multiply by 160
Add 2
Multiply by 125
Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again
Subtract 250
Divide by 2

Do you recognize the answer?

I look through it multiply 20000 in first four digits then add the last four digits twice, finally divided by two. So your phone number is recovered.

Remark that this only work for eight digits telephone number

160x125/2=10000, which gives you nice 4 space (4 zeros) to add your last 4 digits twice then divided by 2

It will work with any length of number that has at least 5 digits (of course).
