   片名源於聖經《馬太福音》中的一個故事：從前有個富人的葡萄園需要幾個人手。他從早上5點開始僱人，僱的最後一個人到深夜11點才來。 12點時活干完了，富人開始付工錢，給每人發一個銀圓。結果清早5點來的，乾了一整天活的人和最後一個11點來的才乾了一個小時的人的工錢是一樣的。一大早來的因此極為不滿，認為還不如11點來，只要不超12點，報酬都是一樣的，真是“來得早不如來得巧”，不如在關鍵時刻，最後決定時刻來。從此“the eleventh hour”的含義便固定為“關鍵時刻”。

   英國演員Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist)將成為新劇《第11小時》（the Eleventh Hour）的男主角。《第11小時》是一部《X檔案》＋《難以忽視的真相》（An Inconvenient Truth）類型的科幻驚悚劇，故事描述了某大學的著名教授Jacob Hood受政府委託，負責調查並應對一系列危害全人類的神秘科學事件及在背後操縱它們的科學瘋子。這些事件包括：生物學領域的"克隆" （clone），氣象學領域的"全球氣候變暖" ，等等。協助Hood教授開展工作的是他年輕美貌、火辣性感的女保鏢，但這個女人是個惹不起的"母老虎"（Marley Shelton飾演）。該劇原本是一部英劇，美國版的劇本由Mick Davis執筆，首集由Danny Cannon執導，故事發生的地點也將從英國轉到美國。 Mick Davis和Danny Cannon都來自原CSI（犯罪現場調查）劇組，因此對此類劇集駕輕就熟，得心應手。

   這部集科幻、罪案、動作、驚險與香艷於一身的翻拍劇集，注定將在金秋的科幻片大潮中引領收視的新一輪激烈角逐
