【內容簡介】：


     《大慈善家》的主人公Teddy Rist（James Purefoy扮演，《Rome》）是一位億萬富翁。自從年幼的孩子去世之後，萬念俱空的他感覺生活中再無真愛，於是放縱心魔佔據自己，燈紅酒綠，玩世不恭－－他玩鈔票，玩女人，玩權術，玩弄他喜歡的一切（官方介紹中有一句話用得很妙：A man who has everything but can feel nothing.）……直到有一天，一次意外徹底改變了他的人生軌跡，讓他變成了一個「義務慈善家」。

    那一天，正在尼日利亞某個小鎮旅行的Teddy遭遇了一場罕見的颶風。生死關頭，Teddy救下一個少年，那種成就感和「自豪感」頓時讓這位花花公子熱血沸騰。回到美國後，他作出了人生中最重大的決定：將自己的熱情、金錢和所掌握的一切權力投入慈善事業，幫助那些需要幫助的人。

    事實上，Teddy的行動並不僅僅限於「幫助別人」，他放棄了過去那種花天酒地的生活，洗淨了自己的靈魂，讓自己從頹廢的泥潭中拔出腳來。為了實現自己「幫助別人」的目標，他不惜冒著生命危險跑遍全世界每一個角落－－甚至是還處於硝煙和戰亂中的地區。只有在與死神的較量中，Teddy才真真切切感覺到了什麼叫做「活著」，什麼叫做「新生」。 Teddy或許沒有敏捷的身手或者百發百中的槍法，但他擁有非凡的商業頭腦和天才的賺錢技巧－－在與偽善的騙子討價還價、與邪惡的毒販進行交涉或者與恐怖的黑幫頭目談判時，這些技巧讓Teddy佔盡上風。

看簡介似乎有不少這個大慈善家與人鬥智的場面
最愛這類的劇集，自prison break完結heroes完季後也沒對其他美劇有多大興趣
