   《第十三號倉庫》的主人公是FBI特工Pete（Eddie McClintock）和Myka（Joanne Kelly）。因為在「拯救總統」的行動中表現出色，他們迅速得到「重用」－－不管他們是否願意，上級（CCH Pounder）強行指派他們到南達科他州監控高度機密的「第十三號倉庫」。那是一座巨大而神秘建築，位於人跡罕至的群山之間。這是個非常古老的「倉庫」，裡面存放著美國政府從全球各地搜刮來的奇怪器件、古代遺跡、超自然物品和一切搞不清用途的東西。之所以說「古老」，是因為它自19世紀初期就開始存在了；之所以說「巨大」，是因為它掏空了一座山，並且深入地下數層。

      Pete和Myka的使命就是看管「第十三號倉庫」，追踪那些神秘丟失並流落民間的物品。物品的失踪往往和超自然現像有關，如果不能找回來，將帶來無法估量的災難性後果。 Pete和Myka將直接聽從「第十三號倉庫」現任「管家」Artie（Saul Rubinek）的調遣－－這位老先生獨自看管「倉庫」已經有好些年頭了。 Artie親自帶Pete和Myka參觀「倉庫」，並向他們展示那些超自然物件的神奇力量。例如有這麼一個茶壺，如果你對它許個願，然後摩擦它的外壁，它裡面會隨機生成一樣東西。一個橄欖球，你把它扔出去以後，它會自己繞地球轉一圈，幾天后又返回投擲者手中（當然，你被它砸暈了另當別論）。還有一個「魔法錢包」，每當Myka拿起它，她死去的戀人就會以「智慧精靈」的身份出現在她面前，對她「指點提攜」。很多物件都來歷不明，但是功能「相當厲害」。

   第一集的劇本Jane Espenson（《BSG》）寫過，Ronald D. Moore（《BSG》）寫過，Rockne O'Bannon（《Farscape》）寫過，最後落到了Jack Kenny（《Titus》）和David Simkins（《The Dresden Files》、《Charmed》、《Blade》）手中。所以……本劇也算是科幻電視名家的集體創作結晶。
