This episode tells how Pablo Picasso was born after a difficult birth in 1881. He was first taught to paint by his father and later sent to the fine arts institute in Barcelona, where he soon exceeded his peers. Sponsored by his uncle, he studied at the Royal Academy in Madrid but rebelled against the idea of merely copying the old masters. He began to pursue his dream of painting original and unique pieces under the name of Picasso.
