The Mid Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, Zhonggiu Festival, or in Chinese, Zhonggiujie (traditional chinese:中秋節), or in Vietnamese "Tet Trung Thu", is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people, dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in china's Shang Dynasty. The Autumn Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a popular celebration of abundance and togetherness dating back to china's Song Dynasty over 1000 years ago. It traditionally falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, a date that parallels the Autumn Equinox of the Western calendar.
