AC Milan confirm Ron deal with Barca
| ROME: Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, the owner of AC Milan, on Tuesday reacted with joy to Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho agreeing to leave Barcelona and sign for his club in a deal reported to be worth US$30mil. “Ronaldinho is ours, Galliani called me from Barcelona,” Berlusconi told Italian television by telephone, referring to AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. “Galliani told me that an agreement was reached and it will be signed tomorrow (Wednesday). Now I hope all the fans who asked me during the election campaign for Ronaldinho will be happy.” Berlusconi, who also owns a vast media empire, took office for a third time in May after winning mid-April elections by a wide margin. A Milan statement released on the club’s official website said earlier, “AC Milan and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ronaldinho”. “Tomorrow (Wednesday) the player will be in Milan for a medical and to sign the contract which will tie him to Milan until June 30, 2011.” |
