If you just want to faster and more safe I recommend you use Chrome and if you want to use more useful plugin to customized your browser and modify to faster I suggest you use Firefox.
The plugins of Firefox are stronger than Chrome. In my experience, Chrome is faster than Firefox, however, Chrome will used lots of memory. Firefox can do more faster through plugins.
