interesting if it is true, for 2nd generation Chinese, the Chinese in Cambodia prefer to speak Khmer between each others, the Chinese in Australia also prefer to speak English, despite they can speak Chinese. So I am not surprise if between 2 young girl, they mainly speak Malay.
I just discover some of my friends that speaks very good Cantonese is actually from Malaysia, and they can't read any Chinese.
楊秀惠 as a Malaysian born, should give them advice, as she clearly should know it is not common for Chinese to speak Malay in Malaysia.
