To plant roses is not difficult at all. Roses need plenty of water (not standing water) & sunshine. Sunshine in Taiwan & Hong Kong is extremely strong, therefore, direct sunshine is not recommended.
Fertilize every 8 weeks during early spring till autumn. We have 3 in 1 fertilizer here in United States which including pesticide & black spot etc. Remember to cut the dead head after flowered & to prune the roses during winter. My 2 cents!

Hi hkgorchid, i have a little disagree with the sunshine in TW & HK not the best place for roses, my house is facing south, and i have plenty of roses in front and my roses got sunlight from sun rise  ...

I mean the direct sunlight is during summer as it can burn the flower heads as well as the leaves. It was happened when I grew those roses in Hong Kong!
