It depends on how many document you are working in the same time iMac 27" give you more working space as it's 2560*1440, and the MBP 15 Retina is 2880*1800 by pixel but actually it's no difference than 1440*900 when you are talking about working space. if you don't need retina display to show more detail for photos/videos, don't take it.
I would recommend iMac 27, and the iPad/iPad mini would be better for moving around at home |
