大範圍滸苔再襲中國大陸青島沿海，場面宛如藍色的大海，變成了綠色的一望無際的草坪，青島西部近岸一廢棄養殖池因滸苔進犯，原用於養殖海參的石頭，被滸苔包裹凝結，猶如綠色的石頭一般，市民則是照舊趕海垂釣。
近日，大範圍滸苔在青島各海灣登陸，給近岸養殖業帶來一定影響，青島開發區漁業部門提醒養殖戶做好準備，全力應對，及時清理池內滸苔，防止海參、鮑魚因滸苔覆蓋缺氧窒息死亡。養殖戶在自家的養殖池裡忙著向池外清理滸苔，防止海參、鮑魚缺氧窒息死亡。
根據中國國家海洋局北海預報中心6月7日下午的監測預警分析，進入青島近海的滸苔分佈面積達1萬3860平方公里，覆蓋面積約103平方公里。自2007年以來，滸苔已連續7年進犯青島。

滸苔為世界性的海藻，廣泛分佈於溫帶性、亞熱帶性，可見於印度洋、大西洋和太平洋等海域，如日本、台灣、中國（浙江、廈門、香港）、菲律賓、馬來西亞、印尼、澳洲等地，主要生長在岩礁和礫石海岸的中、高潮帶。
在台灣則可於北部、東北部經常可見到滸苔，其多生長在中潮帶的泥灘地或岩石上，生長盛期為每年12月到隔年的4月。滸苔可供食用，而且是一是含碘量相當高的食物，另也可當餌料和飼料。
滸苔多叢生，藻體呈綠色至墨綠色，細長管狀，是由單層細胞組成的中空管狀體，膜質，藻體主枝明顯，分枝細長且多，茂密叢生，高約20～100公分，直徑約0.1～ 1公分。
近年來，在中國山東青島的南部沿岸每到6月底、7月初時，就會有大量的綠色滸苔入侵沙灘，加上風勢與海波的助長，滸苔不停朝沙灘湧進，清也清不完，這是因為該海域海上活動和近海養殖業發達，造成海水優氧化嚴重，才致使滸苔湧現的情況一年比一年嚴重。
