Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) 升级包3包含所有之前释放的操作系统升级. 这升级也包含少数的新功能, 但不会有重大的操作系统客户经验变化.

有几个新特点包含在Windows XP SP3内:

• Windows XP Service Pack 3 包含之前所有补丁和升级包. 它也包含延伸组合的启动匙码, 之前被禁止通行的将不被重新使用.
• 将没有任何嵌入SP3 于Windows XP Media Center Edition 或 Windows XP Tablet Edition. 意思是你将不能获得完整的Windows XP Media Center Edition / Tablet Edition SP3 光碟. 可是, Windows XP Media Center Edition 和 Windows XP Tablet Edition 的用户可以通过Windows Update升级到Service Pack 3.
• Network Access Protection compatibility. 几年前发布, 这功能能让Windows XP和iWindows Server 2008 的 NAP功能互动. 这功能也内建于RTM 版本的Windows Vista.
• Product Key-less install option. 类似Windows Vista, 新 XP SP3 在没有输入任何启动匙码也可以进行安装.
• Kernel Mode Cryptographics Module. 一个新建并压缩几个不同密码系统编码的核心
• "Black hole" router detection algorithm. 黑洞路由器侦查编码. 这功能也内建于Windows Vista.

• April 14, 2008: Support is available for the release version of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP
• April 21, 2008: Original Equipment Manufacturers, Volume License, Connect, and MSDN and TechNet subscribers
• April 29, 2008: Microsoft Update, Windows Update, Download Center (release to web delayed due to compatibility issue with Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS)
• May 02, 2008: MSDN/Technet Download
• May 19, 2008: Windows XP SP3 Fulfillment Media
• June 1, 2008: VL Customers via download
• June 10, 2008: Automatic Updates

If errors occur, please stick wilth your current SP2 or just format and direct install the Windows XP SP3.
